Morning Sunshine

In the morning, Sasha was allowed to sleep as late as she wanted. When she awoke, there was a fresh cup of blood by her bed and a note from Morgoth that he would check on her later after business. Just the way a husband would check in on his wife. Like a dotting caring man, except that wasn’t who he was at all.

After breakfast, Sasha pulled her legs free of her comforter and was surprised at how much it hurt. Her hips were widening. Cracking. Sasha moaned and gripped her belly, unable to believe how big it really was. Sasha reared back and struggled to her feet. Her belly so big now, her chest was thrown backwards and her waddle, painful.

Instead of a woman, she was a belly. An incubator for these horrible creatures. And they led her around. Crashing their feet into her ribs, her bladder. Everything hurt. Felt cramped. Sasha couldn’t wait to be free of them.

But then would she have to free them? Love them? Sasha wasn’t sure she could.

Sasha found a blue dress and put it on. It tented out just enough to accommodate her fresh belly growth, but was tight enough you could see her mound pressing against the fabric. The soft blue hued fabric moved up and down with every kick and every breath she took.

Sasha’s hair was curly that morning and she slipped a headband on and stepped onto the terrace. Her eyes hurt from the sun, but Sasha didn’t turn away from it. She wanted to love the sun. She wanted to be in it. She wanted goodness and purity.

All the things that weren’t hers anymore.

Tears fell from her eyes and she was startled by the voice that called out to her from inside the bedroom. “You’re beautiful. So much more beautiful than I ever gave you credit for.”

Sasha supported her belly with her hands. “Morgoth? I didn’t hear you get back.”

“In the morning sun you’re beautiful. I wish I could join you out there.”

Sasha waddled inside with careful steps. “I can join you in here then. We haven’t consummated our marriage yet, you know.” She reached for him, but Morgoth recoiled and Sasha scowled. “You’re displeased with me?”

What more did she have to do?

Morgoth shook his head. “Displeased with myself. I wanted to punish you. Show the vampires I could bed a slayer and corrupt her. And I have.” Morgoth scowled. “We were wed and I watched others use you like an object. I watched you suffer.”

Sasha didn’t know what he was getting at so she was quiet, rubbing her belly.

“And I hated it. Something happened when we were married, and I…can’t wish you harm anymore. If we consummate this marriage, you will turn. That sweetness I was so desperate to corrupt will be destroyed.”

He turned his back to her. “I will help you birth these babies, but after that you must go. I can’t do this to you, I fear. Some part of me must…”

“Love me?” Sasha reached for his hand and Morgoth tried to pull it free, but Sasha wouldn’t let him.
